Here’s what happened in February 2026:
What I was up to: I officially became certified as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach. I also just returned from a wonderful family vacation with some golf and beach time. My brain is already organizing offseason training options and mapping out what the next phase of development can look like for curlers ready to level up.
What I’m reading: I need your recommendations. Sci-fi or fantasy preferred. I’ve had too many DNFs lately and it’s getting frustrating.
What I’m listening to: A Millennial bangers playlist that is absolutely delivering.
What I’m watching: The Tim Hortons Brier, obviously. And don’t forget to tune into Paralympic Curling this weekend. Go Canada Go!
Inside the EP Lab: This was our final week of the in-season fun block. We’ve been working on lowering resting breath rate to improve recovery, prepping for future running goals, maintaining shoulder health, mastering draw weight in practice, and learning the difference between sweeping for distance versus direction.
Next week we start the Lab version of Level 1 Fundamentals, progressing into Level 2 in April. More details on the next block are coming soon.
Favourite exercises from this block’s warm-up: band pull-aparts with a big loop band (ribs down, abs strong) and multidirectional taps with a small loop band, focusing on the stability of the stationary leg.
